Canned Pineapple Price in Kuwait (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average canned pineapple import price amounted to $1,227 per ton, shrinking by -5.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average import price increased by 18%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,368 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($1,437 per ton), while the price for China ($742 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Canned Pineapple Price in Kuwait (FOB) - 2022
The average canned pineapple export price stood at $2,583 per ton in 2022, increasing by 53% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a temperate increase. The export price peaked at $4,334 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iran ($3,036 per ton), while the average price for exports to Qatar ($490 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iran (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Canned Pineapple Imports in Kuwait
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of canned pineapples decreased by -2.3% to 969 tons in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +16.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +59.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 55% against the previous year.
In value terms, canned pineapple imports reduced to $1.2M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +18.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +66.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 53%.

Canned Pineapple Exports in Kuwait
In 2022, shipments abroad of canned pineapples increased by 176% to 11 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a sharp setback.
In value terms, canned pineapple exports surged to $30K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a dramatic descent.
