Cabbage Price in Morocco (FOB) - 2022
The average cabbage export price stood at $227 per ton in December 2022, growing by 8.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 an increase of 117% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $783 per ton in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to December 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was Mauritania ($228 per ton), while the average price for exports to Senegal amounted to $209 per ton.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mauritania (-0.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Cabbage Price in Morocco (CIF) - 2022
The average cabbage import price stood at $886 per ton in 2022, rising by 40% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 120%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,401 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($1,567 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($661 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Cabbage Exports in Morocco
For the fourth year in a row, Morocco recorded growth in shipments abroad of cabbage and other brassicas, which increased by 65% to 33K tons in 2022. Overall, exports enjoyed a significant increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, cabbage exports skyrocketed to $12M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +58.0% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 24%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Cabbage Imports in Morocco
In 2022, overseas purchases of cabbage and other brassicas decreased by -91.7% to 6.5 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports saw a sharp reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 84% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 133 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, cabbage imports shrank notably to $5.8K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports faced a dramatic slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 36%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $58K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
