Japan, Germany, Brazil, Indonesia, the UK, Turkey, South Korea, Bulgaria and Canada lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +7.0%), while consumption for the other global leaders experienced mixed trends in the consumption figures.

In value terms, the largest beverage manufacturing press markets worldwide were China ($962M), the United States ($842M) and India ($599M), with a combined 58% share of the global market. Japan, Brazil, Canada, South Korea, the UK, Turkey, Indonesia, Germany and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 21%.

Over the period under review, global production hit record highs at 269K tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.

Production By Country

China (61K tons) remains the largest beverage manufacturing press producing country worldwide, accounting for 29% of total volume. Moreover, beverage manufacturing press production in China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, the United States (29K tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by India (23K tons), with an 11% share.

In China, beverage manufacturing press production remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining producing countries recorded the following average annual rates of production growth: the United States (-1.4% per year) and India (+0.3% per year).

Imports

The average beverage manufacturing press import price stood at $16,297 per ton in 2022, increasing by 6.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 51%. Global import price peaked at $17,237 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($24,481 per ton), while Mozambique ($2,611 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 13%. The global exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, beverage manufacturing press exports rose notably to $340M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. In value terms, the largest beverage manufacturing press supplying countries worldwide were Italy ($70M), China ($44M) and France ($42M), together comprising 46% of global exports. Spain, Germany, the United States, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Ireland, Poland and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 43%.

Among the main exporting countries, Ireland, with a CAGR of +23.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices By Country

In 2022, the average beverage manufacturing press export price amounted to $16,877 per ton, remaining stable against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a mild descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 5.4%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $21,333 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($34,053 per ton), while Indonesia ($1,147 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
