The average banana import price stood at $289 per ton in November 2023, with an increase of 20% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2022 to November 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Mozambique ($303 per ton), while the price for Swaziland ($228 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Zimbabwe (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In November 2023, the average banana export price amounted to $733 per ton, picking up by 5.4% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated moderate growth from December 2022 to November 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.5% over the last eleven-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
