The average aluminium wire import price stood at $3,133 per ton in March 2022, declining by -4.7% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2022 an increase of 10% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,286 per ton, and then dropped in the following month.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to +2.6% per month.

The average aluminium wire export price stood at $1,713 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -4.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 9.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,377 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($1,921 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia totaled $1,668 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (-6.3%).

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 55%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $102M, and then contracted markedly in the following year.
